Bitter orange or floral elderflower?
Aperol Spritz uses Prosecco, Aperol, and soda. Hugo Spritz combines Prosecco, elderflower liqueur, and soda with mint and lime. St-Germain Cocktail is another elderflower-and-sparkling-wine option. Follow the individual ratios rather than using one formula for all three.
Wine spritzers and related serves
The remaining drinks broaden the selection beyond cocktails named Spritz. Bicicletta combines white wine, Campari, and soda; Tinto de Verano pairs red wine with lemon soda. Sangria adds brandy, fruit juices, orange curaçao, syrup, and soda to red wine. These are related wine-based long drinks, with different ingredients and sweetness. Chill wine and mixers before building, use the ice specified by the recipe, and add the carbonated ingredients gently. A wine spritzer is not automatically low in alcohol: check the spirits and liqueurs in your chosen recipe.
